A Relaxing Romantic Evening...
-
The memory of the evening before was still fresh on Vincent's mind
The previous week had been much more stressful than usual at the office.  He needed an end-of-the-month report from one of his managers that had not yet been completed and the  president of the company was pressuring him to get it done.  Then, to top it off, the alternator on his Corvette shorted out and had to be replaced.  It wouldn't have been so bad but it happened on the day the reports were due and he ended up late for the meeting.  Mr. Diamond seemed to understand but Vincent had built a solid reputation in the company of always being organized and well prepared for such things.
Even though it was something that could happen to anyone, he couldn't shake the tension that had built up over the course of the last several days.  He was usually more hard on himself than others but that was Vincent's nature.  It was also the reason why he was so successful.

Kira had a wonderful sensitivity to those rare times in his everyday life when things just didn't seem to be working as well as usual.  She instinctively knew when those moments of tension caused him to feel a little down on himself.  In fact, one of the reasons why Vincent had done so well in his rise to management had much to do with the uncanny ability she had to immediately know when he was experiencing some bad moments.  She always found a way to lift his spirits and he freely gave her the credit for having made the difference so many times.  When other men boasted about how self-made they were, Vincent DeAngelo was the first to proclaim that a sweet little blonde was the best business partner a guy could ever have.  She was as proud of his successes as she was of her own and that's one of the many reasons why they were so good together; especially when it came to romance.
He had driven home in a rented vehicle.  Without having to explain how terrible his day had gone, she sensed immediatley that he had just come home from one of "those days."

Kira told him to sit down on the sofa.  In fact, she ordered him to do it.
"Vincent, you sit down on that sofa and don't you dare move or I will make you regret it for the rest of your life."
Then she kissed him sweetly and gave him that look that always said, "Baby, I love you so please be a good boy and let me take care of you for a little while."
As always, he complied.  Experience had taught him that he was wise to do
so.
She disappeared into the kitchen and returned a few moments later with a glass of wine.  Cabernet Souvignon had a way of relaxing him after a difficult day at work.
As he enjoyed the quiet peace of his living room, she slipped into the bathroom and ran the water into the tub.  Testing the water as it filled, she made sure that it was just the way he liked it.  She never questioned his preference for hot baths.  It really didn't matter.  It's the way that he liked it and that's all that mattered.
When the tub was ready she grabbed his tired hands and feigned lifting him off of the sofa.  Leading him to the tub by the hand made him feel very loved and cared for.

Refusing to take no for an answer, she undressed him and, as she did, told him a joke she had just heard from a friend.  It was a little risque' but, between the two of them, it was a nice moment to relax and enjoy a laugh together.  He needed it and she knew it.
As Vincent lowered himself into the hot tub, he felt every nerve in his body begin to relax.  The stresses of the past week began to melt away.  It felt good to be babied a little.
Kira refreshed his wine glass and then began to massage his back and neck.
"Oh, yeah.  Thank you, Baby.  That really feels good," he whispered as she worked her fingers along the upper part of his spine.
After soaking for several minutes, he stood as she patted him with a bath towel until he was dry.  Then she held up his robe so that he could slip his arms into it.
    "What's for dinner?" he asked.
She smiled sweetly and responded with, "Not what, but where?"
Kira led Vincent to their bedroom where the freshly cleaned sheets were pulled back and the remote control was laying on one of the pillows.  She motioned for him to lay down and then positioned the pillows to support his back
A few minutes later, dinner was served on a tray.
"Sweet lady, this is wonderful.  If there is anything I needed tonight, it's a quiet evening at home with you.  I love you, Baby."
She kissed him softly on the cheek.
"Oh, you've done this very same thing for me so many times before.  It was simply your turn."
An hour later  Vincent slowly slipped slipped into a deep sleep.  As Kira clicked the television off, she smiled at the soft snoring sound coming from the man she loved more than anyone else.
She had just made love to him.
    He knew that, too.
Sometimes romance means waiting until the next night.

The mission of this not-for-profit website is to promote clear insights and toleration regarding the many variations of primary relationships that exist in our world.  We ask for neither acceptance or approval but hope that each visitor who reviews the pages of this site will leave them with a better understanding of the numerous cultural, historical, preferential, religious, sexual, and sociological approaches to coupling that have always existed and will continue to exist as long as there are at least two human beings living on this planet.  If the effort put into creating and maintaining this site results in others coming to the realization that the basic human need to love and be loved takes on many forms which are accepted by those who practice them, whether right or wrong as determined by the personal belief system of others, then it will have served it's purpose well.
