She wondered if she could ever trust again,
For shattered dreams and broken promises,
Had left her alone to find solace, even if just
a part;
Knowing that freedom and love were just words,
That fell too easily from the lips of those,
Who would not take pause to see the beauty in
her heart.
-
She wondered if she could ever trust again,
For what was once a thing of beauty had died,
Leaving her empty inside and fearful to try one
more time;
Understanding that life was growing shorter,
She struggled to rediscover who she really was,
Only to realize that true love is rare and hard
to find.
-
She wondered if she could ever trust again,
For happy endings and life's lived happily ever
after,
Seemed to be things dreamers feel but do not
understand;
Until a stranger walked in and touched her soul,
Giving her new hope that dreams can come true,
So she learned to love again, reached out, and
took his hand.
-
Trusting again.
